Social Responsibility

Along with numerous planned cultural activities, such as museum tours, shopping trips, and sightseeing adventures, Language Skills gives students the opportunity to volunteer at a variety of local community based organizations. Our High Five Social program helps students feel empowered, self-sufficient, and connected to the community. Volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to, serving food at local homeless shelters, reading books to the very young or the very old, and environmental clean-ups.

Get Involved – You are your own. We’re only human. Together we’re humankind.

There are many exciting opportunities for students to help people and gain valuable experience and community awareness. Besides the pride our students feel knowing they have helped someone, they also gain valuable experience that looks great on a college application or résumé. Volunteering is also an amazing way to have fun, learn, and make new friends.

Volunteering makes our students feel empowered, sufficient, and part of the community.

Participation is not mandatory, but we do strongly recommend our students take part. In fact, students who volunteer for at least 5 hours in a month are eligible for a 5% scholarship*  on their next monthly tuition. We urge you to help yourself by helping others with High Five Social at Language Skills.
*Eligibility required.

5 reasons why we encourage our students to volunteer:

  • Gain important skills and experience that will help you later in life
  • Build confidence and self-esteem
  • Gain extracurricular experience for a college application
  • Feel like you’re part of a community
  • Make new friends and have fun!

We at Language Skills believe that the smallest gestures are the most POWERFUL!

Success in life has nothing to do with what you gain in life or accomplish for yourself. It’s what you do for others. — Danny Thomas
