Since 2005, Language Skills, Inc. has been the home for students and professionals to come the US and study English. In 2011, we moved to our downtown Boston location and have quickly become one of the most popular English schools in the area. Our goal is to welcome students from all over the world to America’s educational capital; to teach the English language, prepare students to achieve their academic goals and, at the same time, introduce American culture. LAL Language Centres, which operates language schools all over the world, acquired Language Skills, Inc. in July of 2014.
In 2012, Language Skills, Inc adopted the mission: to empower the English learner through personal connection and dedicated instruction. We’re a team who believes the goals of the student will lead the world to a better place.
In January of 2015, Language Skills officially became LAL Boston and the new mission carries the same values, with an increased emphasis on the local characteristics of Boston: to provide the perfect environment for our students to learn and practise English while enjoying the characteristics and culture of each country.

Pathway to University
LAL Boston students have the opportunity to take the TOEFL test and apply to a college or university of their choice during their stay in Boston, and then transfer directly to complete their undergraduate or graduate degree at the completion of their Language Skills course.
For those students looking for a direct pathway, Language Skills has a matriculation agreement with Pine Manor College. Pine Manor is a small, private four-year liberal arts college. Its historic campus is situated on 50 wooded acres in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. Pine Manor College will accept the completion of Language Skills Level 5 in support of a student’s English language capabilities at the collegiate level in place of Pine Manor’s TOEFL, IELT’s or STEP Eiken scores requirements.
