New students can begin on any Monday.

Orientation & Placement
Orientation
Before your first class, you are required to attend Orientation. During Orientation, you will have many opportunities to mingle with your new classmates, as well as the Language Skills faculty and staff. You’ll have the chance to explore academic options, campus and student-life activities, government regulations and school rules, the city of Boston and its resources, and our expectations of you as a student. During Orientation, each student will receive a welcome kit, a counseling session with an academic counselor, a student ID card and a placement test.
Placement
Our placement test has a written and a spoken part. The written part is designed to give students and teachers of English a quick way of assessing the approximate level of a student’s knowledge of English grammar and usage. This part takes approximately 60 minutes to complete. The spoken part is designed to assess the student’s approximate level of communication skills. You will be placed into the class level that best suits you based on the results of your placement test.
The placement test is free and cannot be repeated.
