Our Intensive English Program will provide you with the skills you need to begin speaking English freely
Our Intensive English Program is designed for beginners, intermediate, and advanced students who intend to improve their English rapidly for academic advancement. Students who successfully complete our advanced levels in this program should easily meet the language requirements for college admission in the United States.
The Intensive English Course is our signature program for students who are in the United States with an F-1 visa. Beginning 2015, we now offer 30 45-minute lessons per week(an increase of 20 or 24 from 2014), integrating reading, writing, listening, speaking, vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation. This program is most effective for students who have a clear short-term goal, such as passing a college entrance exam or accomplishing a research project, but who have very limited time to master the required language skills. Our teachers will be there for you to guide you through the stressful-yet-rewarding time before you reach your goal.

Orientation & Placement
Before your first class, you are required to attend Orientation. During Orientation, you will have many opportunities to mingle with your new classmates, as well as the LAL Boston faculty and staff. You’ll have the chance to explore academic options, campus and student-life activities, government regulations and school rules, the city of Boston and its resources, and our expectations of you as a student.
Our placement test is designed to give you a quick assessment of your knowledge of English grammar and usage. The test takes approximately 60 minutes to complete. You will be placed into the class level that best suits you based on the results of your placement test.
